DIRECTOR OF STUDENT WELLBEING
With a Master of International Business from the University of Canberra and an MBA, I bring more than two decades of experience across Australian Federal Government agencies — including 18 years specialising in International Education within the Commonwealth Department of Education.
My career has centred on helping international students, education providers, and sector partners navigate complex regulatory environments with clarity and confidence. I’ve led major national initiatives such as the review of the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018, and have extensive experience in compliance audits, monitoring activities, Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) registration renewals, tuition protection processes, and provider support.
I also bring deep expertise in international qualifications recognition, having assessed overseas qualifications from 127 countries against the Australian Qualifications Framework. This work has supported students, State Overseas Qualification Units, offshore applicants, and assessing authorities in making informed, accurate decisions about global education pathways.
Across every role, my focus has remained consistent: delivering thoughtful, practical, and scalable solutions that strengthen compliance, enhance student experience, and support the integrity of Australia’s international education system. I am committed to partnering with clients to understand their needs and help them achieve the best possible outcomes.
Pat brings a lifetime of experience across the Australian education and skills system, having studied at every level—from pre-school, primary and secondary schools through to Vocational Education and Training and onto university. With qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping, and a Bachelor of Business from the University of Canberra, Pat pairs deep sector knowledge with more than 30 years of service in the Australian Government, including senior leadership roles in operations and client service.
Across International Education, VET, Trades Recognition, Skills, and Employment, Pat has earned a reputation for helping clients navigate complex policy and service environments with confidence. He has advised on major national programs, supported international initiatives, and delivered practical, clear guidance to organisations and individuals alike.
What clients value most is Pat’s approach: thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely committed to understanding each person’s needs. He works with care, clarity, and focus to help EIEA clients achieve the best possible outcomes. With a blend of practical experience, policy insight, and a strong dedication to service excellence, Pat is a trusted advisor in the education and skills sector.
With over 30 years of dedicated service in the Australian Department of Education, Sri is a leading expert in international qualifications recognition and strategic education policy. He led the Qualifications Recognition Policy (QRP) area and specialized in building robust assessment frameworks, authoring Country Education Profiles (CEPs) used by global universities, and driving national policy input for international trade agreements. He has authored and contributed to numerous Country Education profiles (CEPs), some examples include India, China, the Philippines, Brazil, Sweden, Belgium and Norway. Country Education Profiles (CEPs) are a recognition tool used by Australian universities and other educational institutions to admit overseas student. CEPs are used by Australian and overseas universities for admission and other related purposes.
A natural mentor and collaborative leader, Sri served as Australia's primary contact point for the global ENIC-NARIC network under the UNESCO Lisbon Recognition Convention. Throughout his career, Sri has successfully bridged the gap between complex governmental systems and practical application—delivering vital stakeholder workshops, managing crucial state and territory networks, and overseeing the department's core digital database (QRIMS) to streamline overseas qualification assessments nationwide.
I’m a counsellor with 27 years of experience supporting people through life’s challenges with practical guidance, empathy, and a clear focus on achievable outcomes. My approach is grounded in understanding each client’s unique circumstances and helping them discover a way forward that strengthens resilience and improves psychological wellbeing.
I hold a Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Australian National University. I am also a registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association. Alongside my professional training, I bring cultural awareness and language proficiency in Urdu, Hindi, and Fijian‑Hindi, allowing me to support clients from diverse backgrounds with sensitivity and respect.
A significant part of my work involves supporting international students who face the profound transition of leaving home to study abroad. This journey brings enormous personal growth — increased independence, problem‑solving skills, and global awareness — but it also comes with challenges such as financial pressure, cultural shock, loneliness, and navigating unfamiliar academic systems. I help students make sense of these experiences, rebuild confidence, and develop practical strategies to thrive both personally and academically.
Whether you’re seeking clarity, emotional support, or a structured path forward, my role is to walk alongside you with care, understanding, and a commitment to your wellbeing.
